Summary

A METHOD OF CALCULATION IS PROPOSED FOR THE STRICT ECONOMIC DIMENSIONING OF THE THERMAL INSULATION OF BUILDINGS, BY MEANS OF A RAPID, NOT ITERATIVE ALGORITHM. THE METHOD MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO SELECT, AS A FUNCTION TO MINIMISE, THE COST OF INSULATION AND THE OVERALL ANNUAL COST, ACCORDING TO THE CRITERIA CHOSEN AND THE STANDARDS IN FORCE FOR THE TYPE OF BUILDING. AFTER A DETAILED ANALYSIS OF BOTH VERSIONS OF THIS METHOD, THE PROCEDURE IN FORTRAN V IS BRIEFLY DESCRIBED, PARTICULARLY APPROPRIATE AND FLEXIBLE, DEVELOPED FOR AUTOMATISING THE PROJECT ADEQUATELY.
