Summary

Observations made on different planets of the solar system revealing considerable differences in greenhouse effect are reported. Firstly, the principle of the phenomenum "greenhouse effect" is given and the influencing factors are analyzed. It is described how and why these different factors influence differently the greenhouse effect on different planets. The comparison between the planets shows not only the individual effect of greenhouse effect components, but also the importance of certain couples (water-CO2 for example). The probably dominant role of the greenhouse effect on the evolution of the planets in the same time scale is shown. Thus, some enigma are explained (early presence of liquid oceans on Earth, nearly total absence of water in the atmosphere of Venus, river erosion on Mars, etc). J.R.
