HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN POROUS ENVIRONMENTS: STUDY OF THE INFLUENCE OF HEAT TRANSFER BETWEEN SOLID AND FLUID BY APPEARANCE OF FLUCTUATING CONVECTION IN POROUS MEDIA.

TRANSFERTS DE CHALEUR ET DE MASSE EN MILIEUX POREUX : ETUDE DE L'INFLUENCE DU TRANSFERT SOLIDE-FLUIDE DANS L'APPARITION DE LA CONVECTION FLUCTUANTE EN MILIEUX POREUX.

Summary

BY A MODEL USING TWO ENERGY EQUATIONS (ONE FOR THE FLUID, THE OTHER ONE FOR THE SOLID) IT IS SHOWN THAT THE EXCHANGE COEFFICIENTS HAVE A MARKED INFLUENCE ON THE STABILITY OF THE RESULTING SOLUTIONS AND THAT THE FLUCTUATING CRITICAL RAYLEIGH NUMBER CAN IN FACT HAVE VALUES BELOW 200 WHEN THE PHASE EXCHANGE BECOMES COMPARATIVELY SMALL. THE CALCULATION METHOD DESCRIBES THE EVOLUTION OF THE SYSTEM WITH SMALL DISTURBANCES BY A METHOD OF FINITE DIFFERENCES. (Bull. CNRS, FR., 81-730-6268.
