Summary

HEAT PIPE ELEMENTS ASSEMBLED TO FORM HEAT EXCHANGERS HAVE MANY MERITS SUCH AS SMALL SIZE, LOW WEIGHT, HIGH HEAT TRANSFER, LOW PRESSURE LOSS, ETC, WHICH MAKES THEM IDEAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE RECOVERY OF WASTE HEAT. THE PAPER DESCRIBES THE DESIGN, EXPERIMENT AND PERFORMANCE OF TWO TYPES OF HEAT PIPE HEAT EXCHANGERS USED IN AN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FOR THE RECOVERY OF EXHAUST AIR COOLING LOAD TO CHILL THE AIR IN SUMMER AND THE RECOVERY OF EXHAUST AIR HEAT LOAD TO WARM THE AIR IN WINE. THE RESULT OF THE EXPERIMENTS PROVED THESE HEAT EXCHANGERS TO BE VERY SATISFACTORY AND ECONOMIC.
