Summary

EXISTING TECHNOLOGY CAN BE ADAPTED FOR USE IN HEAT PUMPS PRODUCING STEAM AT TEMPERATURES UP TO 383-388 K (110-115 DEG C). MORE DEVELOPMENT WORK IS NEEDED TO EXTEND THE MAXIMUM OPERATING TEMPERATURE ABOVE 393 K (120 DEG C). A CIRCUIT DIAGRAM IS GIVEN OF THE INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CO LTD GAS ENGINE DRIVEN HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT PUMP. PUMP DESIGN DATA ARE GIVEN IN THE FIGURES AND TABLES. E.W.S.
