Heat transfer analysis of an inclined two-phase closed thermosiphon.

Author(s) : ZUO Z. J., GUNNERSON F. S.

Type of article: Article

Summary

At a certain inclination angle, the mean heat transfer coefficient of the thermosiphon reaches a maximum value, which is related to the heat transfer behaviour in both condenser and evaporator. The highest flooding limit is at inclination angle ranging from 30 to 45 deg, which corresponds to the best balance of the two opposing effects: secondary circumferential flow and gravity reduction.
