Heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of HFC134a in a horizontal heat transfer tube.

Summary

A smooth tube and an inner finned tube were used for the tests. For the smooth tube, the present evaporation and condensation heat transfer coefficients for R134a without oil were found to be about 25% higher than those for R12. Furthermore, the pressure drop through the tube for R134a becomes about 10% larger than those for R12 in evaporation experiments. In the oil-refrigerant mixture experiments some results are also given.
