Summary
THE INTRODUCTION TO THIS PAPER GIVES THE DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS OF ENERGY, FLOW, CONTINUITY AND DIFFUSION. THE FIRST PART OF THE ARTICLE TREATS OF THE LAMINAR FLOW OF FILM CONDENSATE DOWN A STRAIGHT, VERTICAL WALL AND A VERTICAL PIPE, UNDER CONSTANT WALL-TEMPERATURE CONDITIONS. THIS IS FOLLOWED BY THE EFFECT OF VARYING WALL TEMPERATURE ON HEAT TRANSFER AND THE INFLUENCE OF CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER AND INERTIAL FORCES. PART TWO DEALS WITH TURBULENT FLOW OF FILM CONDENSATE.
