Summary

Two types of surface are studied: a tube bundle and a stack of alveole plates. Test results are presented for a tube bundle and compared to the literature laws. A bibliographic study relative to intensification of heat exchanges, supplemented with flow visualizations, led to the selection of two types of enhanced surfaces: grooved plates and plates with bidimensional obstacles. Their thermal performanceS were equal to or greater than those of the reference metallic battery, while taking up the same amount of space. On the other hand, aeraulic pressure losses through such surfaces appear to be a drawback.
