Thermal systems: design and technology.

Conception et technologie des systèmes thermiques.

Author(s) : LELEU R.

Type of monograph: Book

Summary

This book examines heat transmission modes and reviews common classification: conduction, convection, radiation (see also this Bulletin, reference 2003 - 1624). A chapter of the book is devoted to heat exchangers, which are able to transfer heat from one fluid to to another through a wall. The last chapter presents the processes that do not necessarily involve heat transfer (mechanical processes, resin processes, membrane processes, liquid-liquid extraction). Extract from the table of contents: basic data (conduction, convection, thermal or dielectric radiation); heat exchangers (heat balance and heat flux, temperature difference, heat transfer coefficient, number of transfer units, series exchangers, pressure drops, classification, choice, calculations, price, control, operating problems); mass transfer.
