Heat transfer enhancement of single-phase turbulent flow inside tubes.

Author(s) : YANG D., CHEN T. K., LI B.

Summary

The paper presents significant investigation results of enhanced single-phase turbulent flow inside tubes, which are obtained by two different sets of methods (statistical theory based method, and heat-momentum transfer analogy based method), and presents valid ranges and limitations of them. All the studies show that friction factor increases remarkably with the enhancing of heat transfer. Performance evaluation models developed by the authors, which account for the large variation of fluid Prandtl number with temperature, are also presented.
