THE HEAT TRANSFER PROPERTIES OF THESE INSULANTS HAVE BEEN STUDIED UNDER CONDITIONS OF PARTICLE DIAMETER, SURFACE AREA, PACKING DENSITY, SOLID VOLUME FRACTION AND VOID SPACE. THE APPARENT MEAN THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY WAS MEASURED FOR A BOUNDARY SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF 286 K (13 DEG C) AT THE COLD FACE AND 308 K (35 DEG C) AT THE HOT FACE.
