Summary
Experiments were performed to characterize the heat transfer enhancement produced by adding arrays of triangular tabs to the exit of turbulent round impinging jets issuing from a long pipe. Relationships between nozzle to plate distances and heat transfer, were investigated in the impingement regions and in the region with a radius of 3 jet diameters. Measurements of the velocity field were performed in free jets with tab arrays to investigate how the tabs modify the development of flow.
