Summary
Recent technologies for improving the performance of an absorption refrigerating machine are introduced. A COP of 1.35, which is near upper limit performance for double effect absorption cycle, was achieved by thorough heat recovery in the cycle, two stage evaporation-absorption cycle, high performance heat exchangers and so on. A triple-effect prototype machine has been developed for the purpose of exceeding the performance of the double-effect cycle to achieve a COP of 1.6. Cycle control technologies were also developed.
