Summary

TESTS HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED TO ESTABLISH THE APPLICABILITY OF RECYCLED POLYAMIDE SCRAP TO THE PRODUCTION OF PARTS SUBJECTED TO MECHANICAL STRESSES. IT HAS BEEN FOUND THAT THE YIELD POINT OF THE RECYCLED MATERIAL , CONTRACTION IS SLOWER, PROPAGATION OF THE NECK STARTS AT A GREATER ELONGATION. THE FREEZE RESISTANCE OF VARIOUS SHOCKPROOF POLYSTYRENES HAS ALSO BEEN TESTED. THE SPECIFIC IMPACT ENERGY, THE MAX FLEXURAL STRESS AND THE PERTINENT DEFLECTION HAVE BEEN MEASURED AS A FUNCTION OF THE TEMPERATURE. THE TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE CURVE OF THE SPECIFIC IMPACT ENERGY CONSISTS OF THREE STAGES WHICH ARE CHARACTERIZED BY THE GLASSY, ELASTIC AND MICROCRACK STATES OF THE MATERIAL. THE FLEXURAL DIAGRAM IS A CURVE WITHOUT BREAK WHICH IS INITIALLY STRAIGHT, THEN INCREASES AND PASSES A PEAK.
