Summary

This document is a collection of essays intended to encourage and guide the HVACR engineering profession at a critical juncture in its history. The authors represent diverse engineering, scientific, and technological disciplines. Their unified message is that engineers are uniquely qualified to have a leadership role on construction projects, especially given the trend toward greater complexity and sensitivity of structures and systems. This role, however, has been marginalized over time by a combination of many factors both internal and external to the profession. It is time for an engineering renaissance, and this series or articles endeavours to be a catalyst for just that.
