Humid air behavior through a bubbler basin using for water desalination.

Summary

Worldwide water, especially in the developing world, indicates a pressing need to develop inexpensive and simple desalination technologies, which use solar energy. Simple basin solar still is one of the simplest and most promising of these technologies. However, the productivity is very low. An innovative technology, which help to increase the simple basin solar still productivity, is to combine it with humidification-dehumidification (HDH) desalination process. The present paper undertakes a theoretical study of a simple solar still using as a bubbler humidifier in a water desalination system. In fact, a mathematical model has been developed using mass and heat balance. The simulation results showed that the productivity of the new solar still can reach 8.5 Kg/m².h in the 21 June.
