Hydronic radiant heating and cooling of buildings using pipes embedded in the building structure.

Author(s) : OLESEN B. W.

Summary

The paper presents the possibilities for heating or cooling, using embedded piping in ceiling or floor slabs or even walls. This system allows a reduction in the sizing of conventional air conditioning facilities and also noise abatement. The temperature of circulating water has to be close to the indoor temperature and hence, a better COP can be obtained from heating or cooling devices.
