Summary
Describes the functions of operating theatre air conditioning equipment. Describes a comparison of the investment and running costs of different equipment variants (four operations per day, 200 to 300 operating days per year). The costs of the hygiene-related share of the air conditioning equipment can be calculated per patient. Concludes that laminar flow systems were found to have hygiene and cost advantages over the turbulent jet systems.
