Summary
A SIMPLE AND ACCURATE MODEL FOR PREDICTING THE ICE FORMATION RATE AROUND AN EVAPORATOR COIL IMMERSED IN WATER IS GIVEN. AN EXPERIMENTAL APPARATUS WAS CONSTRUCTED AND DATA WERE GATHERED THE RESULTSINDICATED EXCELLENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THEORY AND EXPERIMENT, WITH MAXIMUM DEVIATION OCCURRING ONLY BEYOND A TIME PERIOD OF 12 HOURS FROM THE ONSET OF ICE FORMATION.
