Summary

The impact of blockage ratio (RB) on convective heat transfer and friction behaviors in a tube equipped with the double-sided delta-winglet tape insert (DWTs) was investigated experimentally. Two blockage ratio (RB = 0.28 and 0.35) were proposed in this study. The effect of parameters was compared with the result of longitudinal strip (L-S) and plain tube under similar flow conditions. Investigations were conducted at Reynolds number (Re) 5500 - 14,500. The results revealed that for employing the DWTs and L-S, the increase in the Nusselt number (Nu) and friction factor up to 318.2% and 13.4 times of plain tube and the highest thermal performance (n) is 1.3. The results also showed that thermal performance increased with the increase of RB.
