Summary

The use of oils containing refrigerant fluid in solution for the lubrication of refrigerating machines equipped with screw or centrifugal compressors harms machine performance. The authors propose the introduction of efficient degassing devices into the lubricating systems, in order to reduce the quantity of refrigerant fluid contained in the oil. The means used are presented, including a computer-based monitoring system and an experimental device to measure the viscosity and the relaxation properties of the lubricant. C.C.
