Summary

This new approach associates a heat exchanger and a gas diffuser as a single element, the 'integrated thermal and mass diffuser' and leads to a significant gain in reactor performance, 100% by improvements to the basic system and up to 200% by the use of more sophisticated systems. Various reactor configurations have been simulated and discussed. From one of the examples of a synthesis reaction under 20 kilopascals, it turned out that reactors equipped with an integrated thermal and mass diffuser in the middle of the reactor give the most satisfactory solution, with an advancement increase of 0.4. This improved performance leads to industrial application for cold generation at -60 deg C.
