Inaccuracies in determining the energy performance of buildings based on energy consumption measurements.

Summary

In accordance with the Directive on energy performance of buildings the energy performance made on the basis of measurements can be an alternative to the energy performance calculated on the basis of methodology (determined in each country). The method of implementation of such characteristic should be relatively simple and possibly precise, based on short measurements in the real building and applicable by an average energy auditor. Seasonal energy use for heating and ventilation in building is the main component of the energy performance. The energy signature method was chosen from the existing methods of determining energy consumption based on measurements. The article analyzes the difference between the value of the seasonal heat consumption assessed on the basis of measurements in different short periods of the heating season and the value of seasonal heat consumption measured in whole heating season. The purpose of the analysis was to draw up the guidelines for determining seasonal heat consumption for heating and ventilation systems in multifamily residential buildings based on short in situ measurements.
