Increasing the evaporation temperature with the help of an internal heat exchanger.
Author(s) : TAMBOVTSEV A., QUACK H.
Summary
Increasing the evaporation temperature by one degree lowers the power consumption of a refrigerator by about 3%. A method is presented how in many applications the evaporation temperature can be increased by about 3 to 5 K with the help of an internal heat exchanger. This arrangement is advantageous for all refrigerants, even for ammonia, where normally internal heat exchangers are detrimental.
