INDICATION OF SECONDARY FLOW PRESENCE IN TURBULENT HEAT TRANSFER THROUGH ECCENTRIC ANNULAR PASSAGE.

Author(s) : ILIC G. S.

Summary

THERE ARE SECONDARY FLOWS IN AN ECCENTRIC ANNULUS. THESE FLOWS FLATTEN THE VELOCITY PROFILE AND THE CONVECTION COEFFICIENT, IN PARTICULAR WHERE THERE ARE LARGE DISTANCES BETWEEN THE WALLS. CONVECTION TERMS, RESULTING FROM SECONDARY FLOWS HAVE, IN MOMENTUM AND ENERGY EQUATIONS, A SIGNIFICANT MAGNITUDE AND THUS A PRONOUNCED EFFECT ON THE PRIMARY FLOW.
