Indoor Air Act would certify indoor-air quality contractors.

Type of article: Article

Summary

A program to identify and certify contractors for indoor air quality work is part of the Indoor Air Act of 1994. A certification program would be put in place "not later than four years after the enactment of this title", allowing for a public comment period. The bill also calls for identification of "significant indoor air health risks", and voluntary guidelines for remedying them. The bill would free up some USD 250 million for further indoor air research and risk reduction. Guidelines for certification remain to be worked out.
