Indoor air distribution characteristics with chilled-ceiling and desiccant-dehumidified air supply.

Author(s) : NIU J. L.

Summary

Integrating desiccant dehumidification and radiant cooling as an alternative air-conditioning system can offer many energy saving and indoor comfort potentials. Laboratory measurements were performed to assess the thermal comfort performances of the low-velocity ceiling supply method. The measured results were also used to evaluate CFD simulation results, and then CFD simulation was performed to numerically investigate displacement ventilation combined with chilled-ceiling. The combined system can offer high level thermal comfort at a cooling load up to 50 watts/m2 floor area.
