Influence of preharvest conditions on postharvest life of Antirrhinum majus cut flowers.

Author(s) : MOOR U., VABRIT S., PAE A., et al.

Summary

During the experiment cut flowers were harvested and stored in tapwater in a cool storage room at temperature 2 °C and RH 90%. The primary symptoms affecting quality of flowers were recorded such as discoloration, wilting and abscission. Flower longevity in days in cool storage was analysed to find out the influence of preharvest conditions (precipitation, radiation and temperature) to postharvest life of snapdragon cut flowers. Results indicated that flower longevity is significantly dependent on the amount of precipitation flowers have got before harvest.
