During the past decade, the installed value of US air conditioning equipment and systems nearly doubled, according to the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI). Last year the value reached a record USD 29.8 billion, 20% higher than the 1993 level and 91% ahead of the decade's starting point in 1985.
