INSULATE FOR A CLEANER EARTH.

Author(s) : BOWDIDGE J. R.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHOR SUMMARISES THE SAVINGS THAT COULD BE MADE IF ALL DWELLINGS IN THE UK WERE INSULATED ULTIMATELY TO DANISH STANDARDS. THE SAVINGS ARE EXPRESSED IN ACTUAL COST, IN THE REDUCTION OF CO2 PRODUCED AND IN THE NUMBER OF AVERAGE OR NUCLEAR POWER STATIONS SAVED. THE STUDY ASSUMES THE TYPES OF HEATING REMAIN IN THE PRESENT RATIO AND INTERMEDIATE STEPS SHOW RESULTS FOR INSULATION TO CURRENT STANDARDS AND TO PROPOSED REGULATIONS WHICH ARE STILL LESS STRINGENT THAN THE DANISH.
