INTEGRATION OF ALL COMMUNICATIONS WITHIN A BUILDING IS STILL HAMPERED BY THE ABSENCE OF ACCEPTED STANDARDS AND POSSIBLE DEPENDENCE ON ONE SUPPLIER. IF SYSTEMS WORK TO COMMUNICATIONS STANDARDS, THEN THERE MAY BE A CHOICE OF SUPPLIERS. UNIFICATION OF THE FULL SYSTEM WILL DEPEND ON BUILDING OCCUPANCY, TO PRESERVE INDIVIDUAL SECURITY FOR TENANTS, WHILE PROVIDING LOCAL CONTROL OF COMMON SERVICES. SYSTEMS MUST ALLOW FOR ADDITIONS, EXTENSIONS AND CHANGES WITHIN THE LIFE OF A BUILDING. EACH PROJECT MSUT BE ASSESSED ON COST AND BENEFITS. A.R.T.
