Investigation of thermal resistant contact in bimetal extended heat exchange surfaces.

Summary

Thermal resistance of bimetal contact (steel-aluminium) in various finned-pipe constructions is presented, along with experimental data of temperature differences in the contact zone (pipe and fin) between various metals with fixed heat flows, for different classes of heat exchange surfaces. Analysis of results showed that, in spite of the varying mechanical structure of the contact zone, thermal resistance in the investigated surfaces was practically identical.
