Summary

In order to make an optimal decision or to find the cheapest possible technical solution, it is necessary for users and designers take into account, on top of the investment itself, the operating expenses over several years. It is increasingly recognized that operating expenses during the lifespan of a plant represent a larger proportion of the total costs than the initial investment. To give a correct illustration of the expenses, it is necessary to analyse all the factors, which must finally lead to a decision. The various factors of a refrigeration plant in a supermarket are presented and various technologies that can be applied are cited.
