Is equipment noise regulated? Are products standardized?
Le bruit des équipements est-il réglementé ? Les produits sont-ils normalisés ?

Type of article: Article
Summary
Several standards exist that give measurement methods, test codes designed to find equipment noise through laboratory measurements. However, very few standards specify the limits of noise levels, or require from the manufacturer that he specifies in his brochure the acoustic power levels emitted. The article deals with the situation for premises: the inventory of current regulations and standards which include acoustic specifications, for the principal types of air conditioning equipment. After a review of the existing statutory texts, while waiting for the announced promulgation of the New Acoustic Regulations, each standard listed is explored from the acoustical point of view, by product type.
