Summary

The article gives an overview of current technological advances in the development of Josephson junctions with the high-critical-temperature superconducting material YBCO, in particular the Josephson-Fraunhöfer-effect magnetometer and high-critical-temperature SQUIDs and their applications. Low-frequency noise-reduction methods are listed, and magnetic-flux collection systems are highlighted, particularly those with direct-pairing geometry. A review of recently obtained performances showed compatibility with applications like non-destructive monitoring in geophysics, submarine communications and biomagnetism.
