Summary

THE LATTICE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY (LTC) OF THE SEMICRYSTALLINE POLYMER HAS BEEN STUDIED AT LOW TEMPERATURES CONSIDERING ITS NONCRYSTALLINE AS WELL AS CRYSTALLINE NATURE. THE STUDIES HAVE BEEN PERFORMED ON ONE SAMPLE OF POLYOXYMETHYLENE AND TWO SAMPLES OF POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE (HAVING DIFFERENT CRYSTALLINITY) BY CALCULATING THEIR TOTAL LTC (K) IN THE ENTIRE TEMPERATURE RANGE 1-20 K. A GOOD AGREEMENT HAS BEEN OBTAINED BETWEEN THE CALCULATED AND EXPERIMENTAL VALUES OF THE LTC IN THE ENTIRE TEMPERATURE RANGE OF STUDY FOR ALL THE SAMPLES.
