Summary
Although LCC analysis is well developed, its application in the building sector remains limited. In practice, life cycle costing has only found significant application in owner occupied facilities and buildings. This paper tries to identify why implementation of LCC in practice is limited and discusses the possibilities of extended use of LCC in private companies and municipalities. Furthermore the paper emphasizes the advantages of LLC calculations when evaluating different HVAC installations and solutions in both new and existing buildings.
