Summary

The article describes the cryorefrigerators used by NASA for vacuum testing of different space capsules. These cryorefrigerators must produce helium at the temperature of 17 K in order to feed the cryopump and allow for the condensation of neon, hydrogen and helium which are extracted using diffusion pumps. The vacuum is produced in airtight and enormous test rooms (diameter 10-20 m, and length 13-36 m).
