Summary
Condensation of pure vapour inside a horizontal tube is investigated for a stratified two-phase flow. The proposed theoretical model takes into account the effect on film hydrodynamics of the equivalent gravitational and interphase friction forces applied to the condensate film. A numerical model is developed to obtain the change in thickness of the film due to liquid removal into the vapour flow and to permit the determination of the local heat transfer coefficient.
