LOW-NOISE AND HIGH EFFICIENCY ROTARY AIR CONDITIONERS.
Type of article: Article
Summary
STATES THAT ROTARY AIR CONDITIONERS USING THE NEWLY DEVELOPED ROTARY COMPRESSORS ARE 15% MORE EFFICIENT THAN THE CONVENTIONAL AIR CONDITIONERS USING RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS. THEIR NOISE LEVEL IS LOWER BY 2 DB, AND THEIR WEIGHT HAS BEEN REDUCED BY MORE THAN 7%. THE AIR CONDITIONERS DESCRIBED ARE MOST SUITABLE FOR USE IN WINDOW-TYPE AIR CONDITIONERS. THEY HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON DURABILITY SO THAT THEY CAN FUNCTION ADEQUATELY IN TROPICAL AREAS WHERE THE ATMOSPHERIC TEMPERATURE EXCEEDS 323K (50 DEG C). DEVELOPMENT AND CONSTRUCTIONAL DETAILS ARE GIVEN IN THE PAPER WHICH IS ILLUSTRATED WITH PHOTOGRAPHS AND DIAGRAMS SHOWING THE REFRIGERATION CYCLE AND COMPRESSOR DETAILS. E.W.S.
