Summary

For many years, cascade systems, and particularly compression refrigerating circuits, have made it possible to obtain and maintain temperatures from -50 to -100°. The arrival of new refrigerants and technical developments provide an opportunity to analyse the parameters and factors to be taken into account to improve the design of this type of refrigerating equipment. The authors chose the example of manufacturing a low-temperature box to underline the relationship between the thermal parameters and the goals pursued.
