Summary
A variable volume air distribution system combined with an ice storage system was selected. The supply air setpoints for the perimeter zones are adjustable and based on ambient conditions. In spite of some initial teething problems, the air-conditioning installation at Foschini's head office building in Cape Town is already showing energy cost savings after the first year of operation.
