Summary

STARTING FROM THE < UNIVERSAL > BEHAVIOUR FOUND IN ALL AMORPHOUS SOLIDS, THE AUTHOR EXAMINES HOW FAR THIS CAN BE CHANGED WHEN CONSIDERING SEMICRYSTALLINE POLYMERS, AND THE FURTHER CHANGES THAT CAN BE BROUGHT ABOUT WHEN THESE MATERIALS ARE EXTRUDED. THE SURVEY SHOWS THAT TO SUMMARIZE THE RESULTS, ONE MUST CONSIDER 3 DISTINCT RANGES OF TEMPERATURE: 1, ABOVE ABOUT 25 K ; 2, BETWEEN 1 AND 25 K ; 3, BELOW 1 K.
