THE SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNETIC SEPARATOR FOR KAOLINIC GROUND CLARIFICATION REPRESENTS THE FIRST INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION OF SUPERCONDUCTIVITY IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA. THE SEPARATOR IS FITTED WITH A SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET WITH AN OPERATING ROOM DIAMETRE OF 560 MILLIMETERS, WHERE MAGNETIC FLOW DENSITY AT 5 T IS ACHIEVED. IT IS ALSO FITTED WITH A CRYOGENIC SYSTEM AND CONTROL SYSTEM ENABLING DATA PROCESSING OPERATION.
