Summary

REPORTS THE RESULTS OF A PROJECT TO DETERMINE THE REAL MAINTENANCE COSTS FOR COMMERCIAL HEAT PUMP PLANTS WITH OUTPUTS OVER 25 KILOWATTS. DATA WAS COLLECTED FROM OVER 100 INSTALLATIONS THROUGHOUT SWEDEN. PRESENTS THE RESULTS FROM 90 INSTALLATIONS IN TABLES AND DIAGRAMS. RELATES MAINTENANCE COSTS, WHICH EXHIBIT A CONSIDERABLE SPREAD, TO INITIAL CAPITAL COSTS, THE COST OF ELECTRICITY AND COST OF THE HEAT O FINDS MAINTENANCE COSTS TEND TO FALL IN LINE WITH INCREASE IN SYSTEM SIZE. STATES THE COMMONLY USED BUDGET FIGURE OF 2% OF THE CAPITAL COST PER YEAR IS QUITE REASONABLE, ALTHOUGH 3% WOULD BE SAFER FOR SYSTEMS BELOW 100 KILOWATTS IN OUTPUT. (INT. BUILD. SERV.
