Summary
Reports that after exogenous allergic alveolitis was recognised as an occupational disease and the first death occurred in the printing and paper industry, the relevant trade associations recognised their responsibility to take action. Describes and illustrates diagrammatically the different humidifying systems and discusses their characteristics concerning maintenance for hygiene. In addition, supplies the text of a five-point programme developed by the Printing and Paper Processing Trade Association designed to ensure hygienically-faultless operation of humidifiers, and which is binding on their membership.
