Summary
Very often in practice, maintenance on a refrigerating plant is restricted to the mechanical components like compressors, pumps, etc. Of course, this type of maintenance should be executed according to the components manufacturer's instructions. However, from a point of view of plant performance and energy costs, system maintenance is just as important. This paper shows how costly lack of system maintenance can be in terms of energy costs and preventing early breakdown of i.e. compressors.
