Managing the cylinder fill in the compressed gas supply chain.
Author(s) : MATLOCK P. E., COULTER A.
Type of article: Article, Case study
Summary
A critical part of the supply chain for packaged gases is the filling of high pressure and liquid cylinders in cylinder fill plants. For purposes of this article, this supply chain begins with the delivery of merchant liquids (and high-pressure gas in tube trailers) by the gas producer/supplier to fill plant storage tanks located adjacent to the filling facilities. It ends with the full cylinders sitting on the fill facility dock (or on the cylinder delivery trucks themselves) awaiting delivery to the customer.
