Summary
The French electrical generation utility has been assessing cooling and heat pump units, although present fossil fuel prices do not favour the heat pump. Many different types of system have been investigated, and are reported on. For winter heating, the heat pump should meet the base load, with resistance electrical heating to meet peaks. The major concerns for domestic units are efficiency, noise and appearance. A.R.T.
